Pola Asuh Orang Tua Militer Pada Anak Remaja Di Kecamatan Bengkalis Kabupaten Bengkalis

Abstract

The first environment that a child comes into contact with is his parents, it takes the role of parents in educating children so that children learn the basic patterns of social life. The condition of adolescent children is sociologically very bound to their family environment, for this reason, everything faced by adolescents requires the role of parents in providing socialization through parenting patterns and each family applies different parenting patterns. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of parenting patterns of military parents to teenagers and to see teenagers' responses to parenting patterns applied by military parents. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with informant determination techniques in the form of purposive sampling so that the informants in this study are teenagers in military families. Data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation and data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. From the results of the study it was found that the parenting patterns applied by military parents to teenagers include semi-authoritarian democratic parenting and democratic parenting. This parenting pattern is viewed from the way of providing rules in education, rules in the association of teenagers, rules in worship, giving attention by parents to teenagers and giving sanctions and rewards. Through semi-authoritarian democratic parenting and democratic parenting applied by parents, child informants assume that both parenting patterns can create children's independence, increase self-confidence, respect time, discipline and have a sense of responsibility.
