Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between fear of missing out (FoMo) and self-efficacy among students of the Guidance and Counseling Department, Tadulako University. The study involved 178 participants selected through random sampling. The research instruments were the FoMo scale adapted from Przybylski (2013) and the self-efficacy scale based on Bandura’s theory. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product Moment correlation through SPSS version 29. The results revealed that 71.35% of students were in the moderate FoMo category and 94% had high self-efficacy. The correlation analysis showed a positive and significant relationship between FoMo and self-efficacy (r = 0.180; p = 0.016). This indicates that higher levels of FoMo are associated with higher self-efficacy among students. The findings suggest that social connectivity through digital media can enhance academic confidence when managed appropriately.
